The BMW Ladies Championship tournament has set a new standard for the KLPGA tour. After its second year, the tournament has been praised not only for its generous prizes, but also for how the whole event was organised. Pro-golfers have given the tournament high praise for its size, atmosphere as well as its organisation, acknowledging that it has raised the bar for existing KLPGA tournaments. In a statement, KLPGA vice-chairman Kang Chun-ja said that “with the largest prize money in the KLPGA, this tournament has taken into considerations the players and staff with an array of events unique to the ‘BMW Ladies Championship’” while anticipating that the tournament itself “has the makings of a great tournament if it continues in this tradition.”

The four-day tournament was made even more memorable by the hole-in-one records and a variety of charity events. The 2016 tournament hole-in-one winners were Choi Hye-yong (3rd round, 4th hole) and Choi Yi-jin (4th round, 16th hole). Choi Yi-jin was awarded a BMW 750Li xDrive Prestige as her hole-in-one prize. She is the second winner of a hole-in-one prize following Seo Ha-kyeong, who received it during the tournament’s first year. Seo Ha-kyeong won a BMW i8 during the 2015 tournament when she recorded a hole-in-one on the 4th round’s 12th hole.
