BMW has been involved in professional golf since 1989. For a long time, it has been hard to imagine the global game of golf without BMW – not only because of the outstanding European Tour and PGA TOUR events that bear the name BMW in their title, but also the many other top international tournaments around the world that BMW supports as a partner.

  • OHL Classic at Mayakoba.
    OHL Classic at Mayakoba

    The OHL Classic at Mayakoba is a very special highlight, as it is the only tournament on the PGA TOUR to be held in Mexico. No wonder some big-name players, including Charley Hoffmann and Fred Funk, do not want to miss out on this welcome change. The latter even set a new record on El Camaleon, when he became the oldest PGA TOUR winner for 32 years with victory in 2007 at the age of 50 years and 257 days. BMW supports the tournament as “Corporate Partner”.

  • UBS Hong Kong Open.
    UBS Hong Kong Open

    The UBS Hong Kong Open is a particularly special event on the tournament calendar for Míguel Ángel Jiménez. It was here that the Spaniard broke his own record in 2013, when he defended his title and, at the age of 49 years and 337 days, strengthened his grip on the title of ‘oldest winner on the European Tour’. The “Mechanic” has since raised that bar yet further in May 2014. The record now stands at 50 years and 133 days. The event at the Hong Kong Golfclub has been a fixture on the European Tour since 2001. Some of the best players in the world have won here, including Bernhard Langer, Colin Montgomerie and Ian Woosnam. BMW supports the event as “Official Sponsor”.

  • MCB Tour Championship.
    MCB Tour Championship

    The MCB Tour Championship is one of the top tournaments on the European Senior Tour. It has been held at the Constance Belle Mare Plage on Mauritius in December every year since 2009. The “Legend Golf Course” has two 18-hole championship golf courses in the middle of a 140-hectare private, natural reserve. The first of its kind, “The Legend” was designed by South African champion Hugh Baiocchi, and offers a fantastic view of the lagoon in some places. Each of the 18 holes has a very special character. The second golf course at Belle Mare Plage, “The Resort”, was designed by Rodney Wright and Peter Allis, and was opened in November 2002. BMW is represented at the tournament as the “Official Partner”.

  • SMBC Singapore Open.
    SMBC Singapore Open

    Having last been staged in 2012, the SMBC Singapore Open returned to the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour calendar in 2016. The tournament is regarded as one of the most prestigious and iconic events, particularly in Asia. This is due, in no small part, to the Serapong Course at the Sentosa Golf Club. Sentosa also hosted a World Final of the BMW Golf Cup International. The course’s greatest appeal is its unique location. Situated on Sentosa Island, on the outskirts of Singapore, the course offers players and spectators an incredible view of the harbour in the city state, and of the South China Sea. BMW is “Official Sponsor” of the tournament.

  • Commercial Bank Qatar Masters.
    Commercial Bank Qatar Masters

    A prestigious event, which attracts the world’s top golfers and enjoys global coverage. Since 1998, the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters has been an ever-present on the European Tour calendar and is one of three tournaments in the Persian Gulf. Doha Golfclub is renowned for its combination of beauty and complexity. Designed by Peter Harradine, the championship course features eight lakes, desert-sand bunkers, and many shrubs and trees, all of which mean the winner of the tournament, which is sponsored by BMW as “Official Car”, can be very proud of their performance.

  • Maybank Championship.
    Maybank Championship

    In the 2016/17 season, the Maybank Championship is on the European Tour tournament calendar for the first time. Thanks to the collaboration with the largest financial institution in Malaysia, a total of three million US dollars is up for grabs at the Saujana Golf & Country Club. The course situated 15 kilometres to the east of Kuala Lumpur is one of the top 100 in the world. With its two famous courses Palm and Bunga Raya, which were designed by Ronald Fream, it is one of the top golfing addresses. In the 2016/17 season, Fabrizio Zanotti won the first edition of the tournament, which is supported by BMW as the “Official Car” partner.

  • World Golf Championships – Mexico Championship.
    WGC - Mexico Championship

    In 2016, the powers that be on the PGA Tour decided to move the WGC - Cadillac Championship to a new venue and to give the event a new name. From Florida, the new WGC - Mexico Championship moves across the border to Mexico City and the Club de Golf Chapultepec. At an altitude of 2,000 metres above sea level, the pros will be pushed to their physical limits. A total prize purse of 9.75 million US dollars is up for grabs at the tournament, which BMW supports as “Official Vehicle” partner.

  • Hero Indian Open.
    Hero Indian Open

    The Hero Indian Open is excellent proof of just how popular golf is in India at the moment. The event has been held since 1964, but was included on the European Tour for the first time in 2015. The inspiration behind the growth of this tournament came from five-time Open champion Peter Thomson, who was among the first to recognise the golfing potential of India on his travels around the world, and promoted the international status of the event. Nowadays, the tournament in New Delhi attracts Indian stars like Anirban Lahiri and Jeev Milkha Singh, while European stars such as Míguel Ángel Jiménez also grace this special event, at which BMW is “Official Partner”.

  • Sharjah Senior Golf Masters presented by Shurooq.
    Sharjah Senior Golf Masters presented by Shurooq

    Sharjah Senior Golf Masters presented by Shurooq is part of the European Senior Tour calendar, in which BMW is represented as the "Official Car" partner, for the first time in the 2016/17 season. The Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club in the United Arab Emirates, located 20 kilometres from Dubai International Airport, was designed by Peter Harradine  in 2005 and has nine varied holes, generous fairways, challenging bunkers and floodlights.

  • Trophee Hassan II.
    Trophee Hassan II

    The Trophy Hassan II can look back on a long-standing tradition. Apart from a few interruptions, the tournament has been held in Morocco every year since 1971. The tournament was named after the earlier Moroccan king Hassan II., and is held at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Rabat. In 2017, Edoardo Molinari clinched victory on the 73-par course with a total length of 6963 metres at the tournament with a prize fund of 2.5 million euros. BMW has been involved in the Trophy Hassan II as the “Official Car” partner since the 2016/17 season.

  • RBC Heritage.
    RBC Heritage

    Just short of six million dollars in prize money attracts the stars of the PGA TOUR to the RBC Heritage on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The list of past winners is like a “who is who” of golf: Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer, Greg Norman, and Tom Watson, to name but a few. And another interesting fact: since 1969, every American Ryder Cup player has taken part in the event, with Davis Love III making the most appearances. BMW supports the event as “Official Vehicle” partner.

  • BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation.
    BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation

    The BMW Charity Pro-Am presented by SYNNEX Corporation is played in a very special format: it is the only tournament on the Tour, the second tier of the PGA TOUR, at which amateurs and pros play against each other. The groups rotate between three courses at The Reserve at Lake Keowee, The Preserve at Verdae and Thornblade Club. The Pro competition is classified separately from the Pro-Am results. One of the tournament’s biggest highlights came back in 2004, when it was graced by two members of the “World Golf Hall of Fame”, Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player. Since 2001 the tournament has supported more than 120 charity organisations, with millions of dollars of donations received every year.

    The Lyoness Open powered by Sporthilfe Cashback Card, in Atzenbrugg in Lower Austria, is without doubt one of the highlights of the European Tour calendar. This is not only down to prize money amounting to 1.5 million Euros, but also the improvements made to the tournament venue. The greens at the Diamond Country Club, near Vienna, have been made larger and space created for grandstands. Local stars like Austria’s BMW Golfsport Ambassador Bernd Wiesberger and the international stars of the European Tour can now play in front of the galleries they deserve. Among those to have won the tournament, which BMW supports as “Official Car” and “Gold Sponsor”, are Germans Bernhard Langer and Alex Cejka.

  • HNA Open de France.
    HNA Open de France

    First held in 1906, the HNA Open de France is the oldest national open in continental Europe. The Le Golf National close to Paris is one of the most beautiful courses in the country and will host the Ryder Cup in 2018. Not far from Versailles, three championship courses await the pros, whereby the Albatros course is particularly appealing to the pros – it has the characteristics of a left-handed course, while also having modern features. BMW supports the event as the “Official Partner”.

  • Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Hosted by The Rory Foundation.
    Dubai Duty Free Irish Open Hosted by The Rory Foundation

    When Rory McIlroy sends out the invitations, everyone comes: The field of competitors is excellent every year. The tournament that has been held since 1975 currently has one of the most elite lists of starters. So, it is no surprise that the trophy winner of the tournament with a prize fund of two million euros is particularly celebrated. The Portstewart Golf Club in Northern Ireland is the 2017 venue of the tournament supported by BMW as the “Official Partner”. With the Strand Course, Riverside Course and Old Course, it has three fantastic courses with a total of 54 holes.

  • Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.
    Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open

    The venue of the tournament that is held the week before the Open and is used by many stars to prepare for the third Majors of the year, changes each year. In 2017 it will take place at Dundonald Links in North Ayrshire – a 72-par course that was designed by renowned golf course architect Kyle Phillips. Since the tournament debut in 1972, only two players have managed to win the AAM Scottish Open more than once. In addition to his two victories in Gleneagles, Ian Woosnam also win in Carnoustie. Ernie Els clinched the title win twice in Loch Lomond. BMW supports the Scottish Open as the “Official Car” partner.

  • RBC Canadian Open.
    RBC Canadian Open

    The RBC Canadian Open organized by Golf Canada is a professional golf tournament held in Canada, first played 112 years ago in 1904. The Canadian Open is the third oldest continuously running tournament on the PGA Tour, after The Open Championship and the U.S. Open. Some of the great players of all-time have won the Canadian Open including Lee Trevino (1977 & 1979), Greg Norman (1984 & 1992), Tiger Woods (2000) and Vijay Singh (2004). Glen Abbey Golf Club was designed in 1976 by Jack Nicklaus and has hosted a record 27 Canadian Opens. BMW is "Platinum Partner".

  • Take Solutions Masters.

    The TAKE Solutions Masters, which is co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour and the Professional Golf Tour of India makes its debut in the 2017 season. The tournament has a prize fund of 300,000 US dollars and will be held at the Karnataka Golf Association (KGA) Golf Course in Bangalore, in the south west of the Indian subcontinent. At least 40 Indian golfers will tee off at the Take Solutions Masters, and will be in with a chance of securing full playing rights on the Asian Tour for winning the tournament. BMW is involved as Official Partner.

  • The Northern Trust.
    The Northern Trust

    The Northern Trust has featured on the PGA Tour calendar since 2007 and is one of the four PGA Playoff tournaments at the conclusion of the FedExCup. The tournament dates back to 1967, when it was held for the first time as the “Westchester Classic” at Westchester Country Club, New York. Since 2008, it has rotated between different golf clubs in the state of New York. Vijay Singh is the record winner with four victories to his name. BMW has supported the event as “Official Vehicle” partner since the 2016/17 season.

  • Omega European Masters.
    Omega European Masters

    Located in the picturesque Pennine Alps, the Omega European Masters is worth the trip to Crans Montana for the scenery alone. Designed by Seve Ballesteros, the course at Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Clubs is at an altitude of 1,500 metres above sea level. Thanks to the elevated plain, it was possible to give the course generous fairways, with hardly any rough to be seen. Seve Ballesteros won here three times, while Thomas Björn has two victories to his name. BMW is main sponsor of the event in Switzerland, where the stunning alpine scenery provides spectacular images every year.

  • The TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola.
    The TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola

    The TOUR Championship is the final tournament in the PGA TOUR Playoffs, which comprise four outstanding events. When the 30 players still in the running for the FedExCup after the BMW Championship tee off at East Lake Golfclub in Atlanta, Georgia, they will not only be battling for the title of this season’s best player, but also a bonus of ten million US dollars, which is awarded to the overall winner. The tournament record at the East Lake Golfclub is held by Tiger Woods, who carded a staggering 23 under par in 2007. BMW is also involved at the final highlight of the PGA TOUR season – the scene of some great sporting drama – as “Official Vehicle”.

  • Italian Open.
    Italian Open

    The Italian Open is being held for the 74th time in 2017. The tournament forms part of the Rolex Series and boasts a prize purse of seven million US dollars. The venue is Golf Club Milano, one of the most exclusive clubs in Italy. It was here that Francesco Molinari made history in 2016, when he won the Italian Open for the second time in his career. In doing so, he became the first Italian to achieve this feat since the event was included on the European Tour calendar in 1972.

  • LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship.
    LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship

    The LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship has been part of the LPGA Tour since 2002, but under different names. Play takes place in Incheon, South Korea, at the 72 Golf Club Ocean Course, a 72-hole course by Nicklaus Design. Grace Park holds the ultimate tournament record: In 2004, a round of 16 under par saw her clinch the well-deserved win and the best result to date at this tournament supported by BMW as the “Official Partner”.

  • The Foshan Open.
    The Foshan Open

    The Foshan Open is one of the more recent tournaments of the Challenge Tour. The tournament has been hosted at the Foshan Golf Club in the eponymous Chinese city since 2013. The first-rate 72-par championship course, designed by Tony Cashmore, offers one of the best and demanding layouts in China. In 2017, Welshman Oliver Farr claimed his second European Challenge Tour title and a return to the European Tour with a five-shot victory. BMW’s role is “Official Car” partner at the Foshan Open.

  • Ras Al Khaimah.
    Ras Al Khaimah

    Still relatively new on the Challenge Tour calendar, is the Ras Al Khaimah Golf Challenge – the penultimate tournament of the season before the NBO Golf Classic Grand Final. Ras Al Khaimah delights with its two 18-hole, 72-par championship golf courses; the Al Hamra Golf Club designed by Peter Harradine and the Tower Links Golfclub. The Al Hamra Golf Club hosts the action, and offers not only the perfect setting for play, but also a fascinating view of the Hajar mountains and the Persian Gulf. The 2016/17 season was the first time that BMW was represented at the tournament in the United Arab Emirates as the “Official Partner”.

  • NBO Classic Grand Final.
    NBO Classic Grand Final

    The NBO Classic Grand Final traditionally forms the final event and grand finale of the Challenge Tour season, with the top 15 players earning their playing rights for the coming European Tour season. The tournament has been played at alternating venues since 1995, most recently in Muscat, the capital of Oman. The winner receives at least 17 points, which, when compared to the 12 points on offer at most tournaments on the Challenge Tour, can be of vital importance when it comes to the allocation of the 15 European Tour cards. BMW is “Official Automobile Partner” of the tournament.

  • DP World Tour Championship Dubai.
    DP World Tour Championship Dubai

    The DP World Tour Championship in Dubai is the event that the European golfing elite spend a whole year working towards: up for grabs at the season finale is overall victory in the Race to Dubai, as well as over one million dollars in prize money for the tournament winner. The big names all come out to play at this event. The top stars put their all into the final tournament of the season at the Greg Norman-designed course at the Jumeirah Golf Estates. As at the season finale on the PGA TOUR – the TOUR Championship – BMW is also involved in the highlight of the European Tour.
